So I started this Cedar Chest about a month ago.
Dovetail joints in the corners.
I got the final coat of varnish on the cedar chest on Thursday night. Saturday morning, I got the hinges back on the lid and the lid on the chest. Here it is, three coats of Shellac and three coats of General Finish Enduro Var, Satin finish.
Hinges are Torsion Hinges from Rockler. It has two 60 lb and one 40 lb hing. They will hold the lid at any position you put it. Sorta like a laptop lid.
So it got picked up today and it out of the shop now.
On to other projects now.

Yep, that turned out really well. I like the way you did the base.
Beautiful chest John. What kind of dove tail jig do you use? I am shopping for a new one and have not decided which one to get. Too many choices!
Bob

Robert I use this one. I purchased it a couple of years ago at The Woodworking Show. It works really great and it pretty easy to setup. Cut the pins on one side and the tails on the other side.

Hey John, have you ever looked into the Keller? Kind of the same principle.

I have not. I saw the one I have at The Woodworking Show when they were in Huntsville, AL and purchased it then. It works really well and is easy to setup.
I see if I can look the Keller up and see what the difference is.

It was nice to move it out. I still have way too much stuff in the shop though.
