That is very cool Sue. I love the ease of use and the quickness it appears your able to level the surface. What size is your compressor?
And, when you first posted we could see the video in this post, did something happen, as in did our site mess you up and turn it into a link?
Great job Sue and it was a pleasure to hear your voice! Nice to meet you!

I have one of those air sanders and have NEVER used it on my lathe. Guess I never thought about it. Glad to see that it works so well, I'll have to try that.
Where I lived in Ohio, we were next to a county that has a huge Amish population and most of they would not use any electricity or electric tools. Therefore, all of their tools were air powered by a gasoline motor driven air compressor. They had tools that I never knew could be air powered. In many ways they were better than electric motor powered.
Thanks John,
When I posted it, I didn't think it was showing, so I deleted it and added it as a link. So it sounds like this might have been my error. I apparently got this in the wrong category as well, and it now doesn't give me the option to delete it and repost it. Think you could move this to the right category. Sorry about the posting mistake. We have a 60 gallon air compressor. This little Grex uses a lot of air. :)

Ron,
I specifically bought this to use on the lathe and am very happy with it. It's small enough that I can control it with relative ease. The Grex also has two extensions for getting into deeper vessels, but haven't found the extensions necessary yet on any of the bowls I've been making. The bowl in this video is 5 inches deep (outside measure) and the Grex reaches the bottom easily. The sanding grits come in 60 through 800 which is just perfect for bowls. You gotta try it on the lathe. It has saved me so much sanding time.

That sure beats the wave disks on a corded hand drill!
Thanks!

Per our email SQ I got ya taken care of! And I got your video up and running. When you embed videos, it first may appear as a yellow void, but give it a few seconds for the site to catch up with the video and it will show up shortly.
Great video SQ!

LOL yes it does. It even beats pieces of sand paper which was what I was using before buying this. This is much easier on the fingers and doesn't get hot like strips of sand paper.

I got to get one of those. I have the no air powered one that uses those sanding disc. I think I would really use that.

Awesome Sue!! TY for sharing :-)
Thanks Pauline.
I actually posted that as an experiment and then it got featured and I couldn't delete it.
My first public video and it's a bit rough.

When you use it, do you vary the speed with different grit sand paper? When you are fine sanding, what grit do you use and how do you know the speed, those things will fly into the thousands of RPMs quickly.
