I am a bit impatient. I sanded the areas with the runs down to bare wood. I just applied a light coat of danish oil and I hope the color blends well. I hope this works...

So how is it looking Adam? Is it blending ok?

Yes. The danish oil blended nicely. I will give it until tonight to set up then back to the topcoat. Just a bit more carefully this time.

Wow. I am thrilled with the way that the finish turned out. The Waterlox blended well and I just applied the final coat. I will post some pics Sun or Mon, depending on when I deliver the headboard. Thanks for the advice and thank you John for getting my pictures posted correctly.

I'm impressed.  I was most certain that the refraction index between the two different finishing materials would be an issue.
