Jason, I am sure we'll get some good answers here soon enough. I myself have just dived into the world of Old Machinery restoration so I am not as hooked up as some of our members are. Let's wait and see where our more experienced restoration experts shoot you off to, heck they might even have a motor to sell you here!

Take a look over on owwm. There is a section there for machines and parts for sale. I would place a WTB,( want to buy) in the BOYD section. You should be able to come with one fairly quickly

Owwm has temporarily dismantled their buy and sell page to upgrade their server but thanks for the tip. As soon as they are up again I'll try it.

Jason.....The section you were looking at has been down for a few years. There are 2 sites and it can get confusing. OWWM.COM which is now Vintagemachinery.com is the site you went to. It is referred to as the mothership but the guys in the forums. To get to the forums which are located at OWWM.ORG, click on the discussion tab in the upper left portion of the header. You will need to register, its free, in order to see all of the forums and be able to post.

I got a 1750 rpm Baldor 1 HP for my Walker Turner lathe. The original   was too bloody scary for words. No grounding, the  leads had been snipped too many times and were near impossible to work with.

I got this exact motor:  300534546877 ( ebay item number)

I bought it from that same guy too and he's got MASKA cast iron balanced  stepped pulleys too.

$206 is a damn cheap price for that motor. I think that's what I paid.

I did have to make a  swing type hangar under the lathe table but that was easy enough.

They show up on ebay from time to time. search "walker turner" or "driver line" or "k-c" or "kingston conley".

The motors were mfg for Walker Turner by Kingston Conley.

www.owwm.org has a classified section "bring out your dead" BOYD listing stuff for sale FS or wanted to buy WTB.

Prices are always somewhere between what you want to pay and what the seller is asking.
