On the advice of John Morris, I am thinking about selling a few old Stanley Bailey bench planes but I wasnt sure if anyone would be interested. I have quite a few and more hand planes than anyone could possibly need. They are good user planes although they will need some tuning up to work right as I have not used them in years. I have a #4 smoother that I used the most and is in the best shape. A LN #4 and #3 retired it for good. A #5 jack with a broken handle but still very usable. A #3 with a corrugated base. A standard angle block that I havent seen for years but know I have (maybe a 9
1/2?). And I also have a #100 squirell tail that was given to me long, long ago. If anyone is interested, I will post pics. All proceeds will go to The Patriot Woodworker. They could easily be great user planes with a little work. I will not set prices as all profitts will go to this site. If anyone is interested in restoring a classic, let me know. I am sure I can dig out many others. If there is something you are looking for, shoot me a message. I might have it. I have been doing this for a loooong time. Too many tools..... Thanks again, John.

I am not very good with computers but here are some pics. One of these is an old #7 that I didnt know I still had. The blade was quite sharp but the bottom has a few pits and needs some work. If anyone is interested leave me a comment or message and we can work out a price. Remember, all proceedes go to this site. Tags:

I hope you have the planes I am looking for.
I need a Stanley/Bailey #39 1/2 and any other dado plane, a #48, and #2, lastly a #4 1/2.
I would also like to buy your #3 corrugated and the #100 squirell tail.
Thank You
Arlin

Arlin, are you buying these for collecting? Or using? Lots of options out there if you just want to use planes. Old wood dados are much less expensive and work as well as any stanley dado. Same with the wooden sets for T&G work. Just asking. bob

Sorry Arlin. I dont have a 39 1/2 for sale or #2 or a #4 1/2. I have sold the #100. If you would like the #3, get in touch with John Morris and send him $20 plus $15 for shipping. If you are a collector, then this plaqne is not for you. It works great and has a sharp iron but its in bad shape. Just beat up but it has a flat (corregated) sole and cuts great. Also, fir the other planes, go to thebesthings.com. They have a large stock of old Stanley planes.

Good to hear from you Adam. Hope you are doing ok. I am sure you are busy with work from the storm. Hope your bench came through ok and all your tools. Can't believe somebody has not snapped up the plane. bob

Thanks Adam for your support of our site. It means the world.
As Bob alluded to, I hope you came out of the storm relatively well. Family and friends, I hope they fared well too.

I do not remember if I asked you this question before, but what is a #100 squirell tail, and what does it do?
I will also talk to John about the LN #3 and #4 and if you have any planes left to restore I would be very happy to buy and restore them also.
Thank You for helping me and John

A #100 is a very small block plane that I no longer own. The planes I have left are not Lie-Nielsen. They are vintage Stanley Baileys.
