My wife Tami and I took a short trip down to San Diego, CA for some R&R leaving early Sunday morning for the 90 mile drive and spent the night coming home on Monday evening. While we were there we spent some time at Balboa Park, the historic "Gaslamp District", the San Diego Zoo and Seaport Village. It was a very nice trip with nice weather that was partially cloudy and in the mid 60's.
Balboa Park has a number of different museums and exhibits as well as a great arboretum and an "Artisan's Craft Shop" area with a number of local artisans selling their wares. One of the museums we went to was the "Automotive Museum" where they are currently having a special exhibit on the old "Woody" station wagons. Here in So. California in the 50's and 60's as the surf scene took off the old Woodies were a main stay of the culture. It was a really great exhibit with those old "Woodies" as well as the other classic cars and motorcycles that they had on display. They had some great videos as well talking about the history of the Woodies as well as showing all that went into doing the restoration on them. So here are a few photos for those of you who like the old Woodies.

Always did like those cars when they were matched with a good paint color (i'm not a fan of pea green or baby blue) The red one for example, If money wasn't a problem, I'd be trying to buy it :)
