Well this is the first project from my new scroll saw. It's not perfect, the stripes are a little squiggly in places but I learned a few things during the project as I was getting used to the new saw. Thanks for looking and I welcome all comments good and bad!

Mike, that is definitely a project to be proud of. I'm glad you shared it with us.

Mike. Great job, looks really great. Be proud of it. Not only does it look great, but stands for something even greater. Great job.

Thanks guys! I will display it proudly on our front door.

Beautiful!!

Mike,

That is truly spectacular!  What size is that?  What kind of paint did you use? I am tempted to make one myself.

SQ the finished piece is approx 9.5 X 13.5, the paints are white spray enamel for the backer board, the red white and blue are indoor / outdoor acrylic that I bought at MICHAELS which is in the 8 oz. bottles and sells for $2.50 per bottle and then I used spray acrylic sealer from Michaels. I also bought the small foam brushes that Michaels has on sale for 14 for $1.00. The pattern was a free pattern from Wood magazine February 2002. It was on their website for free download but I lost mine when I formatted my hard drive but one of our members sent it to me. If you can send me your e-mail I'll send it to you. I think I'm going to make another but with reverse view and join them together for a larger plaque.

Here is the website for the free pattern. The download link is at the end of page 3 . It also comes with a Canadian flag pattern as well. http://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-plans/intarsia-patriot-flag...

Great looking flag! Looks like a fun project.

Thanks for the link, Mike! Another one to add to my list.
