Man what I would give to be working with my brother, I think that is awesome in itself. Your shop would make a great house too.
Nice work places.

I was wondering, how are the end caps of the logs secured in place? Just grout alone?

Jack,
Could you tell me the roof pitch angles on the railroad station shop?

Sorry for not getting back sooner.
The main is a 12 in 12 with the domers and over hangs 6 in 12. Something that has aways intrigued me is that a 5 in 12 pitch is about half the angle of a 12 in12 pitch roof. Common scene would say that a 6 in 12 is half the angle of a 12 in 12 but it's not.
Anyone care to explain why or coment?

6/12 is 22.5 degrees; 12/12 is 45 degrees.

Did you use trig?
i get 26.57 dregs for 6 in 12
and get 22.62 for 5 in 12
if you got the old stile 16x24 framing squares its on the tables . but most Carpenters got the speed square now.
for thouse who hate math here's a link
