Sue's woodworking Shop is in her garage. like a lot of others.
I volunteered to help her with a layout to improve how her Shop is arranged. Using the garage's interior size, location of the ingress door and the overhead garage door locations, here is the start of the project.
Below is an image of the Shop's interior size. She will provide all the equipment sizes soon, then we can go ahead and start the layout.
After I get the remailing details, we'll start to have fun! Kinda like a "Show and Tell.."

Looks like a perfect blank slate to start with! Congrats Sue, Larry does great work, he designed a cabin for my family that we'll use when we are ready to build. Have fun with it Sue, I'll be checking in and seeing what you guys come up with.

I bet your cabin design turned out wonderful. I am very excited to see how we can improve our layout. Our double car garage is our shop, so space is limited. We are out in our shop almost everyday, so we really use what we have - like two possessed people. lol I stayed up late last night to get all the dimensions and photos to him. Looking forward to seeing what he will come up with. It was so nice of him to offer to do this. We have done the best we can, but I'm confident he will amaze us with improved ways to utilize the space. I'm sitting on the edge of my chair. (grin)

It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing.
Sue, and other interested folks..
Here's an updated image of Sue's Shop showing the major equipment scaled to the sizes she provided, ready to be placed.
Kinda like the "paper doll" thingy..
I now wonder how she crammed all that stuff into a 2 car garage, but we'll try to give her a better layout. Gonna take some time, so stay tuned, it will be fun..
Lare..
Everything looks good except we have two spindle sanders. The largest one is already included in your design. The smaller Jet sander is 15 1/2 inches wide x 18 inches deep. It sits on it's own stand. I can't set it on the workbench as it makes it too tall for me to use. Everything else looks great!!!

I'm trying to upload a bigger image by taking out the text on the right side.
Having trouble. Bear with me..

Not a problem. I have a large printer 11" x 17" so have a nice big view of it. I do have a few comments... which will be in the next post. I should have it posted in the next couple of minutes. I love what you have done! But I think we can tweak (grin) it just a bit.

I can't enlarge it, and in the process, I lost the original Canvas CVS drawing. Will have t start all over.. Tomorrrow..

I would fully expect to have 5 or 6 iterations before we are even close..

I absolutely love what you have done. However, can you swap what you have on the west wall to the east wall, and what you have on the east wall to the west wall? This way my husband doesn't have to move that long workbench - which he refuses to want move. I cut out all the pieces for the shop equipment and have been playing with the design. With a few minor changes in the center, I think we will have ourselves a new shop. Thanks so much for all your continued hard work on this plan. I love it already. :)

Looks great guys! I really didn't think you could fit all that in that space. Amazing.
