I have an older Wilton 10" quick release vise that I would really like to use on my workbench but it has an issue. The nut that captures on the screw is very badly worn and will not hold. I need another nut so I can use it. If anyone has an older vise lying around that is not going to be used I would really use the part. Let me know what ya have.......Thanks

Hello Ken,
Rather than finding a new nut or one that would replace the one you have, just wrap the screw with teflon tape till the nut fits snuggly. That way you can still use it till you get a replacement.

I had thought of doing that but, the threads on the nut are almost completely gone and the screw a lot of times wont even grab the nut at all. The inside walls of the nut are basically smooth, stripped, kaput.

Ken.........WMH tool group (jet tools) owns wilton. You could call customer service and possibly get replacement parts for your vice. It may help if you have a model number. It's worth a try.

Gary....I called them friday, they are Walter Meier now. parts are no longer available

I asked on another forum for one. It seems that the seller had just picked up a box of NOS nuts at a garage sale. What are the chances?
