Portable Miter Saw Station from Woodsmith Shop Plans

This is a great project from Woodsmith Shop Plans which are free by the way. It's very straight forward and can be built from common construction grade lumber. Its made from 1/2" plywood, Douglas Fir 2" X 4" X 8' & 2" x 6" x 8" lumber, T TRACK, 2" X 2" X 1/" X 6' aluminium angle and hardware.I used cabinet grade maple plywood for the support bases for the fence and the saw and I used poplar for the fence faces and the center guide. Curved Lid Curly Maple Jewelry Box

Posted on March 10, 2012 at 1:32pm 5 Comments

This is a jewelry box I'm making for the wife. It's a box that I saw on the Woodsmith show earlier this week. You can find the free plans at: http://www.woodsmithshop.com/episodes/downloads/

It's actually fairly easy to build and can be made from any wood. I chose Curly Maple as illustrated in the plans but any hardwood will make a great box. The pics are of the dry assembled case. The lid is very easy to mill and I didn't…

John,

You aren't a Herc crewmember are you?  That CG Herc in your photo almost looks like one of the NY ANG Firebirds (with skis).  I flew H models for the AF in AK 89-92, then King Airs for another 3 yrs there.  Been to Kodiak many times. Grew up in Tacoma.
