So, I'm making a fancy pen for my wife, and she has requested purpleheart as the wood (since I have some lying around already). However, since purpleheart loses it's purple luster in exposure to UV,…Continue

So while perusing Make: Online I stumbled across this post reviewing a tool to help us turners (and I presume others) easily find the center of the piece.  Having looked it over and seen the price ($3.65) how can I resist? Especially since my previous methods have never resulted in an accurate measurement. …See More

Justin, Sorry I forgot to answer you post about the glue in the cutting boards. I use Titebond III for all of the cutting boards. I tried several others and it just seem to work the best. A little longer open time and sets up good. It is a water proof glue also. I hope you get a chance to make some and please share them when you do.

Justin, building bows can be both fun and frustrating because so much work goes in before you have a good sense of whether it will be successful. The Traditional Bowyer's Bible series is great, but it can be daunting for the beginner. Here's a simple introductory video that will get you started: http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=7556-1. Let me know if I can answer any questions. Bow season starts here Thursday, and I'll be hunting with an ipe selfbow that I made and have used to successfully put meat in the freezer more than once.
