Shriner's Peanut Boil

The Shriner's have a Peanut Boil every year in a small town in South Alabama, Luverne. It is advertised as the largest peanut boil in the world. Last week beginning on Wednesday they began boiling them and My wife and our 2 daughters and Father in law and grandson helped this year. There were a total of 24 TONs of peanuts boiled and all of them were sold. This is a good fund raiser for the Shriner's. We met some of them from Montgomery and also from South Carolina. Freedom Pens For Our Troops

This is my first post on blog. I wanted to let you all know about a project i got involved in back in Feb. of this year. I had the honor of being invited to a TAT (Turn A Thon) at the woodshop on the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. There are volunteers that meet once a month and turn pens for our troops. There are those that turn pens, put them together, and unbag kits. They meet one day a month, on Sunday, and begin at 10:00 am and end just whenever. Another Meeting

Hope it is ok to mention it here. If not just delete it. There is another meeting of the North Alabama, Tennessee chapter of penturners of another site called IAP. We will meeton April 16th, which is on a Saturday. I will post an update when and where it will be. Thanks, Keith
